2007 Marks the Centenary of Scouting - throughout the year a lot of special activities and events will be taking place to celebrate 100 years of scouting.  More news will follow shortly.  

Sunday 22nd April 2007 - St George's Day Celebration - at Alton Towers

An exciting and fun day out for all members and their families and friends - with extra activities just for us.  We have negotiated a very special concessionary rate for members, friends and family; the District will also be arranging (subsidised) transport (coaches) to / from the event.  Full details will follow shortly.

Friday 25th May 2007 - A three day Centenary District Camp

For members of all units in our Scout District, Scouts, Explorers and Cubs (and including a Beaver Sleep-Over) with lots of activities and fun - a special camp for a special celebration.  Not to be missed!

Wednesday 1st August 2007 - Scouting Sunrise - A very special day

To mark the actual hour when 100 years ago Baden-Powell started the very first Scout Camp on Brownsea Island and brought the Scouting movement to life.  

Everyone involved in Scouting throughout the World (some 26 million people) will be celebrating this event at special locations - to renew their Promise and enjoy Scouting start its next hundred years of adventures. 

Our District will be actively involved in the Bakewell Show over the two days, Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd August 2007.  This will include a special Scouting Sunrise event and some active involvement in the Show.  Make Sure You Are There!
